Module 2 — Build and deploy securely with GitHub Actions

Course: GHP-DOM-101 · Estimated study time: 50–65 minutes · Module 2 of 7

Build and deploy securely with GitHub Actions: a five-step labeled conceptual process diagram, with a visible illustration disclaimer.
Skunkworks Academy visual learning aid. Illustrative workflow mock-up — not an actual GitHub screenshot. Confirm actual interface labels against current vendor documentation.
Illustrative mock interface: a schematic of source validation, artifact creation and deployment checks; example only, not a real screenshot.
Illustrative mock interface, not a live GitHub or DNS-provider screenshot. Exact menu names may differ; validate in the official vendor documentation.

Measurable learning outcomes

By the end of this module, the learner should be able to:

  • Explain the minimum Pages deployment permissions and why they are scoped.
  • Build a reproducible Docusaurus pipeline with pull-request validation and release separation.
  • Diagnose asset and route failures caused by an incorrect Docusaurus base URL.

Practical deliverable: Implement the example workflow in a throwaway repository. Run validation on a feature branch, capture a successful Actions artifact, then deliberately introduce a broken baseUrl and record the browser Network errors before fixing it.
